I make my own glass beads on my bench-top burner. Katie, can you sell my beads, or make something pretty aout of them?
Back on track now...
I will not be able to attend. I have an island to conquer!

No the wife had signed us up for an Army marriage enrichment dinner. Its a nice free dinner so I said yes. I didn't remember until yesterday.chicken n waffles wrote:another purveyor of LIES in this threadBluestreak2006 wrote:Sorry guys I can't make. I just checked and I have plans I can't break. So is anyone going to that Mach V meet this Saturday? Im likely going to go pick up a front lip for the wag or whatever they have for sale....

Actually the "Grey Ghost" moniker should refer to John Singleton Mosby. A leader of Confederate Rangers who got the name because of his uncanny ability to harrass and engage Union troops then virtually disappear into the counrtyside. Like Robert E. Lee, Mosby spoke out against secession and hated slavery, yet felt it his duty to serve for his home state. Lee, who was never one to publicly praise any in his command wrote more highly and frequently about Mosby than of any other Confederate leader. After the war, Mosby became a good friend of Grant and was his campaign manager for president. He is a facinating and complex historcial figure.Libra Monkee wrote:Grey Ghost?!?! Doesn't that have something to to with Batman?
If anyone goes to the Manassass Battlefield, or any of the other Civil war sites in NOVA, you will likely see signs indicating it is part of the Mosby Heritage Area. This is an area set aside for preservation due to it's historic significance. (and yes, it's named for John Singleton Mosby)
Just another piece of historical trivia brought to you by drwrx.
